Georgia
peaches are not the only thing in Georgia!
Polk
and I met the Wellocks in Georgia while they were on their way home
from the Keys. We had a fast-paced week touring all the attractions
in the area near where we camped and felt you needed to be part
of that experience…especially if you enjoy history. This stopover
will be a great place for our Michigan friends going home after
the “thaw.”
You
will be able to pick your own strawberries, tour many great museums
and national military parks, as well as visit homes where two of our
presidents lived and one died there. It will be in the spring of the
year and the azaleas will be in full bloom for your visit to Callaway
Gardens. |

You
can also ride a local train and disembark at many of the surrounding
towns. You will be able to tour the location of a detention center
for the Union soldiers of the Civil War and if you go to the zoo,
you may get to watch them feed the alligators. All of this for a
stay of $15.00 per night and $20 for the rally fee.
Please
come April 2-9, 2009, (leaving on the 10th) to join us in Americus,
Georgia, at the Brickyard Plantation R. V. Park (229-874-1234, ask
for Debra). We have reserved 20 sites for this rally and the cut-off
date will be March 1, 2009 for signing up. More details on non-members
joining us later. Don’t miss out on the fun!
