PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Hello, Everyone

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you who attended our Sponsor’s Rally. We had a great time. Lou and Connie did an outstanding job as Rally Hosts…..I was really excited to see so many of our group participating in the games and activities.

I look forward to another year as your president. I think our club has a great future ahead of it and thanks to all of your support, we have an amended set of By-Laws. I can’t say enough about the work done by the committees, so again I say Thank you…..

Our next rally is New Years. If you are interested in coming, contact our Wagon Master, Marie Moreau. We will have additional information concerning this rally soon on our web site. Please continue to check our web site for information about our club and our rallies.

So, Happy Trails to you all, safe travels and I hope to see you “down the road”.

Until next time…. Travel safely,
Ida Cook, President

Hi, everyone. After a cool summer in the mountains Bobby and I have returned home. We had only lived in our new home about 3 weeks when we left so it was nice to get back. Polk and Linda came back with us and spent a couple of days and we enjoyed their company.

We are looking forward to the gathering at Turkey Track. We hope that you will be there, too. The Sponsor's Rally and the Y2K+9 Rally are coming up also. Our plan is to be at all of those rallies.

A copy of the revised bi-laws will be included with your newsletter. You will also be receiving a ballot to vote on the officers in case you will not be able to attend the Sponsor's Rally.

Travel safely,

Nancy Skinner

Wagonmaster News

Thanks to all club members for the vote of support as your wagon master again for another year. Now fair warning, please think about serving as an officer for next year and let any officer know of your interest. It’s a great way to get involved in club business and get to know members more. I am looking forward to working with anyone who is interested in putting on a rally for 2009 or planning for 2010. New rallies always bring folks out to explore different places.

Our dog "Sammie" who was at the Sponsor's rally now has a new home. A young man who is in college and working at PETCO has decided to adopt him. He was down on the floor with Sammie and now sure who was happier, Sammie or John. As the story goes, things come in 3's, well John called for the dog on Monday, and then Tuesday morning I received two other calls from guys who really wanted him and asked me to take their numbers in case the first guy changed his mind. They were disappointed that he had already found a home. We were happy to see him go to a good home in spite of mixed emotions.

Looking forward to seeing everyone for the Y2K+9 Rally in Colfax and wishing everyone "Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year."

Happy trails to all...Marie Moreau

Buddy and I spent the summer at the West Des Moines KOA. It’s 25 miles west of Des Moines,Iowa. We arrived shortly before the flooding in Iowa. Thank God we were on high ground and very safe. The only thing we didn't like were the tornados, heavy rains and very strong winds. We really enjoyed the people here and the area has a lot to do and see. We visited John Wayne's birthplace, the Madison County Covered Bridges, and went to the Iowa State Fair.

We are leaving on September 14th and headed for Deadwood, S.D. to meet Michele, Buddy's daughter, to spend a few days visiting and sightseeing. After that we will gradually work our way down South.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Sponsor's Rally.

TRAVEL SAFELY,
Buddy and Maria
