Thanks you for electing me again to serve as your president. I thank John Laninga and Nancy Skinner for having served as officers with us last year. Newly elected officers serving with me are Wagon Master and Vice President James H. Smith, 2nd Vice President Les Cook, Treasurer Maria Rickles and Secretary Gail Smith. I am very pleased at the selection and am looking forward to working with them this coming year.
Check out the newsletter and policy section of the web page to see the updates which were presented to the membership at the Sponsor’s Rally. The updates are from our executive meetings held in Chama and while at the Sponsor’s Rally. I think making a change to allow guests to come one time without paying a guest fee of twenty dollars is a good thing. If they visit any other time they will pay their $20 or just join which is the same price and five dollar registration fee. Since we are in the electronic age, sending the ballots by email will save the club money so naturally that is a good thing also.
We are encouraging rally hosts to have two cut off dates if they have limited sites giving an advantage to members over guests for limited sites. We also have come to the decision that the Sponsor’s Rally may be scheduled at any time during the week and not just on the weekends, allowing us a little more flexibility in park selection and can save us some money as well at some parks.
Your Executive Committee is all about keeping our club on tract and keeping us on budget. We did well last year and I’m fully confident we will continue to do so this next year.

Thanks you for electing me 2nd Vice President. I look forward to working with the officers and Executive committee. It looks like we have a lot of great rallies planned for 2012.
This travel club is unique in the fact that it is an extended family for most of us. We look forward to each and every rally because not only do we get to see great places and do many new things, but we get to see these friends that have become so important to us.
So, having said that, hope we see all of you down the road in this coming year.
Safe Travels,
Les Cook |

Happy NEW YEAR !!!!!
I understand that the New Year's Rally was a huge success thanks to our hosts the Schenk's and the Bruce's. Gail and I were unable to attend since we were busy welcoming our fourth grandchild and my namesake, Aven James. He was born December 30 in Lubbock, Texas.
With the New Year ahead of us, we have many opportunities coming up to rally together. Our next rally will be held in Chattanooga, TN. Check the newsletter or website for dates and details for this rally and others scheduled this year.
Speaking of what is coming up… it is not too early to start making plans for rallies in 2013. We need rally locations and hosts to step forward and get our calendar filled for 2013. I look forward to hearing from you with ideas and location for rallies.
Again, Happy New Year and Happy Travels!

Hello from your new Traveling Supremes Secretary for 2012! Wow, do I feel right at home. In high school, I was elected Senior Class Secretary. In college, I studied Business Administration in order to eventually become—you guessed it, a Secretary. Women were mostly limited in those days to becoming a secretary, nurse, teacher or stay-at-home mom. Later I became a legal secretary and eventually a legal assistant, but I felt as if I was the secretary at home for my husband and kids—paid the bills, handled the correspondence and organized all the schedules. After retirement, James came home from managing women for 30+ years and started managing just me—and I served as his secretary! I feel really qualified for this office!
Wikipedia says a secretary originally had a literal meaning of “a person set apart, as in private or secret”. A secretary supports the executives of a company or organization with a variety of skills, dealing with correspondence and minutes of meetings and events, and keeping her mouth shut. I'm not feeling nearly so qualified now!
Here's hoping I can represent you well this year and in the future. Definitely let me know of anything I need to do that I am not doing. Who knows, if I do a good job maybe the salary for this office will double in the future!
