2012 Traveling Supremes
Sponsor's Rally
Rayne, LA

October 25 - 28, 2012

Ghosts and Goblins Descend On Rayne, Louisiana

The Traveling Supremes' annual Sponsor's Rally for 2012 is scheduled for October 25 to October 28, at the City of Rayne's RV Park. The rate for parking will be $15 per rig and includes electric (50 amp) and water. Sewage hookups are available but they are shared as every site does not have one. The park has three dump stations. Our parking will be along the drainage ditch just off of Gossen Drive as you enter the park. The City of Rayne has reserved the Green Room for our meetings and waived their normal room fee of $250.

We plan to offer two full meals and one will feature a Jello (lime green) entree and go downhill from there. The other will be highlighted by cut to order "Calf Fries" (done golden brown). Do I have your attention now? Good, now here's the real stuff!

We invite you to arrive early (Oct 24) if you choose and stay a day later (Oct 28) if you like.    As we draw nearer to the event, please let me know if you plan to arrive early or stay late.   Please plan to pay for your site by personal check made payable to the City of Rayne ($15 x number of nights). We'll pick up your check on the day of arrival and will deliver all of the checks to the City of Rayne on October 29.

This year's rally will be hosted by Carol and me and James and Gail Smith. The rally will have a Halloween Theme and, of course plenty of good food. While we plan to have some organized activities which we think you'll find interesting, we'll make sure you have ample free time to roam and explore.

I currently plan to have a menu headlined with entrees of Crawfish Etouffe and barbeque chicken accompanied with plenty of other appropriate comfort food.  We plan to have one breakfast of pancakes and sausage on Oct 26, with a lighter breakfast of biscuits, sausage and coffee on October 27. We will have coffee and juice available every morning.

I'm thinking we'll have a Dutch Treat night out on October 25 - the location is still up for grabs. So, if you have a recommendation, let me know.

Marie Moreau has volunteered to be "Chef of the Day" for the etouffe and Ken Wellock and Jack Bruce will be the barbeque masters. I will head up a host of volunteers who will prepare the side dishes for both nights. The etouffe will be served on Friday evening and the chicken barbeque will be served on Saturday night. If you are inclined to volunteer to head up a breakfast or just want to volunteer to help with anything else, please let me know. Cuz if you don't volunteer on your own, I'll make sure you don't feel left out.

Gail and Carol are in charge of decorations and they will also be looking for volunteers. We hope everyone will "get in the spirit" and dress in costume on Saturday night. It doesn't need to be elaborate, but we encourage you to let your imagination run wild!

I already have 20 rigs signed up. So, if you're interested please give me a call at 830-537-4256 or email me soon. Meanwhile, travel supremely and safely.
