Travel Supreme
International Rally
September 24 - 28, 2007

Day 1 (9-21-07 - Friday) Early Day
Chuck and Bobbie Bayles arrived on Friday finding Maria and Buddy Rickles already set up. After we set up our rig, Joe and Sue Moore made it into the fairgrounds after having to argue their way into a gate. It was late, but our helping hosts found a gate to let them in.

Day 2 (9-22-07 -Saturday) Early Day
Met Judy and Rhett Williams today. Also, along came Pat and Jim Dodson who are both still at the Travel Supreme factory having work done on their units. AnnMarie and Ken Wellock came into the fairgrounds late this afternoon. We are already partying...wish you were ALL here!

We had a very eventful night last night. Very scary. Around 1:30 a.m. we were awakened to find some of the pavilions burning down in the fairgrounds, which were very close to our TS...Here are some pictures and the aftermath. Rickles and Bayles' were in the line of FIRE! We thankfully survived and didn't have to make our quick escape. We are thankful for FIREMEN...people we should really be proud of.

Day 4 (9-23-07 Sunday) Early Day

Lurene and Michael Cassidy

Everyone is now coming into the rally campground area. Bayles’ and Rickles moved over from the “middle” of the fairgrounds to the rally area. Many of us Traveling Supremes either came over from the factory or just planned on getting here today. What fun! We are all parked in the same area.

Around 4:00 PM we all converged on the Moore’s, bringing our chair and afternoon drink of choice. We had 2 new member’s sign up (Odom’s and Cassidy’s) and maybe one more who hasn’t yet decided as yet to join us, but we will be working on him, I’m sure!

Some of us still hadn’t eaten dinner so around 8:00 the group dispersed to our respected homes.

Paul and Linda Odom

  Day 5 (9-24-07 Monday)
It’s a quiet morning. About 15 of the guys went to play golf. As the late morning activities started we started the seminars. Of course the ladies went to checkout the carpet cleaning talk, while others (including myself) rather go to the cooking and “tasting” seminar on fix’n pizza using tortilla shells.

Most of the guys got stuck on the “Man” seminars this afternoon. There are many going on…every half hour to an hour with no lunch breaks! They are sure keeping us busy. We managed to find time to eat dinner on the run and then all of the attendees of the rally came together for the Opening Ceremonies. After introductions and announcements we were entertained by a fabulous magician that kept us laughing the entire time.

Day 6 (9-25-07 Tuesday)
Travel Supreme is the first on the list for a seminar today. They are giving us two hours to do the talking…only it was hard to figure out which way is the talking ....us or them?
In the afternoon we all went over to the Travel Supreme Factory for tours. Dinner tonight catered by Travel Supreme!!!!! Later in the afternoon the Travel Supreme factory gave us tours of the 5th wheel plant as well as the motor homes plant. Evening activities started out with a great chicken dinner, which Travel Supreme catered. A singing couple entertained us afterwards…..

Day 7 (9-26-07 Wednesday)
Breakfast was served with “flying” pancakes. More pictures will follow in in a couple of days. Seminars continued. A few 2008 - 5th wheels and a few motor homes from Travel Supreme are here at the rally for us to see. An ice cream social was available to anyone who wanted to attend in the afternoon.

Evening activities consisted of a presentation of Travel Supreme Owners Rallies for next year. The International Rally will be in DuQuoin, IL on September 22 – 27, 2008. Bingo followed with winners winning free TS memberships and paid rally fees for next year!

Lot’s of rigs are now decorated for Halloween…what a hoot. They are sure great and I’d hate to be the judge!!!! Winners will be announced at the closing ceremonies tomorrow evening.

Day 8 (9-27-07 Thursday)
There was a pet parade this morning and Ida and Less marched with their birds, Maggie Magnolia (Umbrella Cockatoo); Gracie (African Grey Parrot); and Tweety Bird (Cockatiel). Maggie squauked which meant she voted for the German Shorthair (which by the way won best dressed)!

We also had a Red Hat Luncheon today. The hosts of the luncheon did a great job and we all had fun and plenty to eat. The rest of the afternoon most everyone sat around and just relaxed. Tonight is the closing ceremonies and dinner was served.

Contest winners were announced at the closing ceremonies tonight. Winners from our chapter were: in the pet parade for Cutest - "Les and Ida's birds", Baseball winner - Hersel Rigney, People picture winner - Ida Cook for "Amber and Tweety". After awards and future startup of new chapter clubs we were entertained by a really good country music band.

Day 9 (9-28-07 Friday)
Breakfast and good-byes....see you all next year at the International Rally.....It's in DuQuoin, IL on September 22 – 27, 2008.
